determine frame size

why your glasses size matters

You’ve spotted a pair of glasses you like, but does it actually fit well? At Wink & See, we make determining your size as easy as making a cup of coffee. A little measuring or checking, and you’ll know.

A well-fitting pair of glasses feels comfortable, doesn’t slide off your nose, and enhances your face. Too large? It sags or protrudes. Too small? It pinches or feels just plain wrong. With the right size, you don’t just look better, you feel better too.

how to determine your glasses size

Your glasses size might sound like something for experts, but trust us: it’s simpler than you think. The size is composed of three numbers that together determine how the frame sits on your face.

Those three are:

A simple way to find your size is to look at your current glasses. Chances are, the size is printed on the inside of the temple arms (the “legs”). For example, something like 135 - 18 - 140.

What do those numbers mean?

Wink & See
Frame width (from left to right)
Wink & See
135 = means the total frame width in millimeters
Wink & See
Bridge width (the distance between the lenses)
Wink & See
18 = the width of the nose bridge in millimeters
Wink & See
Temple arm length (how long the arm is behind your ear)
Wink & See
140 = the length of the temple arm in millimeters

If you see these numbers, jot them down or take a photo so you can compare them with the measurements listed on our product pages. (Note: sometimes there’s an extra number or the numbers are in a different order, don’t worry. The lens width and bridge width are usually adjacent, followed by the temple length.) On our product pages you’ll see these measurements clearly.

If you have more than one pair of glasses, compare them, this gives you a feel for what fits your face best.

no glasses on hand?

No worries! Even without glasses, you can easily determine your size. Grab a ruler or measuring tape and measure the width of your face: from temple to temple. Do you have a pair of sunglasses that fits comfortably? Measure those instead. That’ll give you a solid starting point.

On every product page, you’ll find our handy size chart. Compare your measurement to the chart, and you’ll quickly know whether a Small, Medium, or Large is the best choice for you. Still unsure? Then size M is a safe bet, it fits around 80% of our customers and is a bestseller for a reason. Stuck? We’ve got you. Send us a photo of your current glasses (or your face), and we’ll help you out. No hassle, no sales pitch, just honest advice.

Whether you have a narrow face, a wide jawline, or something in between: at Wink & See you’ll always find a frame that fits you. One useful tool is the width comparator on our product pages, which helps you easily navigate to a slightly narrower or wider size if needed. Our frames come in various sizes: from S to L. And to make things easy, on each frame you’ll immediately see which size works best for your face shape. That way, you don’t have to guess, you just choose with confidence.
